Whether you are running PCR in clear, white, translucents, tints or opaque colors, there is always a chance for color variation from lot to lot – particularly with lighter colors. For this reason, we request that every customer buying PCR bottles sign a waiver agreeing to accept reasonable variations in the final color and clarity.
Sustainable options such as post-consumer resins, bioresins and biodegradable additives typically require a 50,000 piece minimum and may also require a set-up fee or purge charge depending on the manufacturing process and bottle size. Pretium also has a limited selection of PCR bottes and jars in stock for smaller MOQs.
Most of Pretium’s sustianble packaging options fall into one of four categories:
    1. recyclable resins (PET and HDPE)
    2. post-consumer (recycled) resins (PET and HDPE)
    3. bioresins (plant-based PET and HDPE)
    4. lightweighted packages that reduce gram weight while retaining performance
We work with you to evaluate all of the options to find the sustainable solution that meets your requirements.
Pretium does not currently sell bottles online, although we do offer small quantities of free sample bottles using our online Product Catalog.
Pretium manufactures plastic bottles and jars, but we do not manufacture any caps or closures. For closures, pumps and sprayers we would encourage you to review our list of stocking distributors most of these distributors carry a wide variety of closures and components. When speaking with a distributor, tell them the neck finish information (available for every item Pretium sells) and they can find closures that fit Pretium’s SPI finishes.
Pretium offers over 1,000 bottles and jars that we define as “stock” bottles. This means they are available to sell to anyone (as opposed to “custom” bottles which are paid for and owned by a specific customer). All of our stock bottles are listed in our Stock Product Catalogs and can be viewed in our online Product Catalog. Not all of our stock products are in stock at all times; to see what items we have in stock for immediate shipment, please visit our stocking program pages.
For single-stage PET bottles (most PET packers, narrow neck rounds & ovals, and wide mouth jars), our standard colors are clear, white, cobalt blue, dark green, light amber, dark amber and black. For 2-stage PET (condiment bottles, automotive bottles and honey bears), the standard color is clear. For HDPE bottles, standard colors are usually white and natural, although some IBM bottles may have high MOQs for natural. “Standard” colors are available with no purge charge, but may have minimum order quantities or colorant upcharges. Pretium does not stock all bottles in all standard colors.
Minimum Order Requirements vary by bottle style, manufacturing process and other factors. For our HDPE Pharma Line and many of our core single-stage PET products (such PET packers, narrow-neck rounds, wide mouth jars), the MOQ is just $500 when we have those items in stock, or is often as low as one pallet if we have to schedule a run for you. Please visit our stocking program pages for up-to-date information about what’s in stock now. As a general rule of thumb of our extrusion blow molded HDPE bottles have a 25,000-piece MOQ; our injection blow molded bottles have a 50,000-piece MOQ; our clear 38mm 2-stage PET bottles have a 25,000-piece MOQ; and other 2-stage bottles typically have a 50,000-piece MOQ. Special reins, including post-consumer resins and bioresins, usually have an 50,000-piece MOQ unless the items are already in stock. Some bottles are only sold in full pallets. Please speak with your Pretium Key Account Manager or customer service representative for the MOQ associated with the items you intend to order.
