Pretium Packaging Plant Achieves Seven Years Without Lost Time Accident
Pretium Packaging, a St. Louis-based manufacturer of custom plastic packaging
solutions for consumer and institutional products, has achieved seven years
without a lost-time accident at its Seymour, IN plant.
This remarkable record was achieved because of the everyday safety awareness
throughout this plant. Safety is at the forefront on a daily basis and is
reinforced through regular promotions, contests and more.
In the event that an accident does occur, the plant manages productivity by
getting employees back to work as quickly as possible, and by finding
alternative, light-duty positions for employees that allow them to quickly
return to the workforce. This excellent track record reduces company expenses on
workman's comp and disability insurance.
In addition to a superb safety record, Pretium's Seymour plant has also achieved
a record year of sales. This past year, we have made more bottles, maintained
improved quality standards and greatly improved our ability to deliver on time,
than in any previous year. David Winslett, President, added, "Safety and
profitability go hand in hand, and Seymour is a great example of this. We are
very proud of our Seymour employees."
Pretium's Seymour plant is working to achieve ISO 9000 certification in 2004.
