Pretium Packaging Completes ISO Certification at 11 Locations
Pretium Packaging, a St. Louis-based manufacturer of custom plastic packaging
solutions for consumer and institutional products, has completed ISO 9001:2000
certification at its corporate office and 10 manufacturing facilities.
Pretium has used ISO certification to establish and document consistent business
processes throughout the plants, including the product design procedures, with
the majority of the documentation in electronic form. The company has also
implemented an internal audit process by trained auditors in several plants.
"We have gone beyond the ISO requirements and documented other areas, such as a
Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) program," said Lois Lester, manager of
corporate quality. "These processes allow us to better serve our customers, meet
customer requirements and operate more efficiently in a consistent manner."
The corporate office and Hermann, MO plant earned ISO certification in 2003. In
2004, the Peru, IL, Muscatine, IA, Seymour, IN, Hazleton, PA and Nashua, NH
plants completed ISO 9001:2000 certification. The St. Charles, MO facility
earned certification in 2005. The Pointe-Claire (Montreal), St. Laurent
(Montreal) and Anaheim, CA plants are on schedule to complete certification in
2006.
