UTZ Quality Foods and Pretium Packaging LLC collaborate on new PET snack
canister.
When UTZ Quality Foods was looking for ideas for unique PET canisters for their
snack mixes, they came to Pretium Packaging LLC. Pretium submitted several
distinctive canister designs to the UTZ Product Development Committee. This
committee reviewed the designs and selected a canister that was targeted for
College Basketball Tournament season. The UTZ and Pretium teams, working
collaboratively, refined the canister design to create a distinctive package for
UTZ "Hoops Mix". The final, jointly designed canister is a
replica of a basketball rim & net. An impressive aspect of the PET canister
features a knotted net detail that is etched to highlight the characteristics of
the design. UTZ developed a specialty snack mix, and matched a lid and label to
complete the package. The new container & product was made available exclusively
at Sam's Clubs throughout North America.
